While a pleasant town, it clearly needs some better care and infrastructures. It is disheartening to see some public and many private properties crumbling. Communication is a challenge, to say the least. You are lucky if you find one, anyone, who can speak some English. The best part of the town is its people; warm and inviting, despite the lack of communication. One never feels threatened or in lack of security, no matter where one might be across town.

San Juan is a small city but is fine for a short visit and is easy to drive around. The cathedral bell tower (Campanile) gives a nice view over the city centre, but you must buy the ticket at the Teatro Municipal on the main square first. GOOD BUS SERVICE NEED A BUS CARD AVAILABLE ONLY AT STALLS IN THE CENTER AND AT TERMINAL. SAN JUAN IS THE CENTER OF TRANSPORT FOR VISITING OTHER MORE INTERESTING PLACES--BARREAL NEAR THE ANDES, ISCHIGULASTO DINOSAUIR PARK, VALLE FERTIL, QUILMES RUINS, BELEN (AN INDIGENOUS TOWN), SAN JOSE JACHAL (NATURE TOURISM).RonaldAustralia
